The eponymously titled debut full length release from American black metal act Owlscry features a thick, psychedelic edge cloaked in an aura of madness. The overall atmosphere is pitch black darkness which will swallow the listener whole without mercy. In an effort to preserve the effect of a live performance, all instruments were recorded in a single take with vocals also recorded in a single take. A minimal amount of layering was added later to enhance the finished listening experience. Compelling!
